Deborah
Riedel is one of Australia’s most successful international sopranos with
performances at Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Geneva, Paris, Rome, Vienna
Staatsoper, New York Metropolitan, San Francisco, Netherlands and Welsh
National Opera.
Her roles
include Violetta in La Traviata, Mimi in La Bohème, Amina in
La Sonnambula, Marguerite in Faust, Donna Anna and Donna
Elvira in Don Giovanni, Leonora in Il Trovatore, Marshallin in
Der Rosenkavalier, Leonora in Fidelio, Sieglinde in Die
Walküre, and the title roles in Maria Stuarda, Norma,
Tosca and Turandot.
She has sung
with the London Symphony Orchestra, New York and Czech Philharmonic
Orchestras, at the BBC Proms, the Royal Albert Hall, and the Concertgebouw
Amsterdam.
Deborah has
performed with all state opera companies and orchestras and her recordings
include Paganini and Giuditta (Telarc), The Duchess of
Chicago and Requiem Ebraico (Decca), The Power of Love
with Richard Bonynge (Melba) and Meyerbeer’s Semiramide under Richard
Bonynge (Naxos).
Future
engagements include Un Ballo in Maschera with State Opera South
Australia and further recordings with Richard Bonynge.
