Born in Australia but raised in Fiji, Sitiveni
began studying voice at the Australian National University in
2001 and also studied singing in the U.K. at the Yorke Trust
Summer Opera Company in Norfolk and with teachers and coaches at
the Royal Northern College of Music.
Sitiveni moved to Perth in 2005 and became a
member of the West Australian Opera chorus. He became a Young
Artist with the company in 2008/09 as well as being a member of
their Opera and Education Program. Siti has performed the roles
of Prince Yamadori, Madama Butterfly, and Sailor, The
Love of the Nightingale. He has also understudied the title
role in Rigoletto, Papageno, Die Zauberflöte;
Dottore Bartolo, Il Barbiere di Siviglia; and will cover
Amonasro in the upcoming production of Aida.
In 2009 Siti will perform Belcore, L’elisir
d’amore; Antonio, Le nozze di Figaro and Jake Wallace
in La fanciulla del West. He will also understudy the
role of Zurga in Les pêcheurs de perles.
Other performing credits include Njegus,
The Merry Widow; L’horloge Comtoise, L’enfant et les
Sortileges (George Limb Opera Company); Libertone,
L’incoronazione di Poppea (Yorke Trust Summer Opera, U.K.).
Concert appearances include bass soloist in The Messiah
and the St John and St Matthew Passions.
