Tamsyn Stock-Stafford was born in Cornwall, England and moved to Australia when she was nine years old. She graduated with a Bachelor of Music from the West Australian Conservatorium of Music in Perth.

Whilst studying at the Conservatorium, Tamsyn performed at various concert venues, expanding her repertoire with such roles as Barbarina in Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, Arminda in Mozart’s La Finta Giardiniera, First Lady in Mozart’s The Magic Flute, Second Sphinx in Turnage’s Greek, Titania in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Countess Almaviva in Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro.

In 1996, she joined the West Australian Opera Company chorus. With the Opera Company she performed the roles of Hansel in scenes from Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel, Gossip in Britten’s Noye’s Fludde and Cousin in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly.

Tamsyn has performed the soprano solo’s in Beethoven’s Mass in C, Mozart’s Mass in C Major and Mass in C Minor, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Mozart’s Requiem and Handel’s Messiah. She has also performed the Four Last Songs by Richard Strauss, with orchestra, and recorded various recitals for ABC Classic FM.

In 2003, Tamsyn won the Ralph Thompson Memorial Scholarship. She was then selected for the West Australian Opera Company’s Young Artist Programme for 2004, which is sponsored by the West Australian Opera Lover’s Association. Subsequently, Tamsyn won the Bendat Scholarship, which is awarded in association with the Young Artist Programme.

In 2004, Tamsyn performed the soprano solo in Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, which was co-produced by the West Australian Opera Company, the West Australian Ballet Company and the West Australian Symphony Orchestra. Later in the year, she performed the soprano solo in Mendelssohn’s Midsummer Night’s Dream for the West Australian Symphony Orchestra. In 2005 Tamsyn performed Moya Henderson's song cycle, Wild Card with piano and cello for the Lieder Society of Western Australia, and was developed in close association with the composer.

Most recently, she was the Queen of the Night in Mozart’s The Magic Flute for the West Australian Opera Company the First Lady in highlights from The Magic Flute for the West Australian Symphony Orchestra and Frasquita in Bizet’s Carmen for the West Australian Opera Company. In August 2006 she  performed the role of Anna in Verdi’s Nabucco.
