Thomas is 24 years old and holds a Bachelor of music as well as a Certificate II in Musical Theatre. He has performed in many of Perth’s musical productions including Les Misérables; Jesus Christ SuperStar (Simon Zealotes); Wizard of Oz (Tinman) and Oklahoma (Ali Hakim).  His appearances as a soloist in several of Perth’s public events include the 2005 City of Perth’s Nativity, the 2006 IGA Christmas Carols, and with the Perth Oratorio Choir as the tenor soloist in Handel’s Messiah in 2007.
 
In 2003 Thomas began studying a Bachelor of Music at the Conservatorium of Music - WAAPA, which he completed in 2007. While studying he has performed lead roles in many of the Academy’s operatic works, including the title role in the 2005 production of Dido and Anaeas, the lead tenor role of Jack in the 2006 WA premiere of Love Burns by Graeme Koehne, and the role of Lysander in Benjamin Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream in 2006.
 
Thomas has also been an active member of the West Australian Opera chorus for 4 years, and has performed minor lead roles in several operas during the 2006 and 2007 seasons, including the Registrar in Madama Butterfly, Charles Edward in Candide and First Philistine in Samson and Delilah. Thomas also recently appeared as Monostatos in Die Zauberflöte, his first major role with the West Australian Opera Company.
 
Following his success in the Bachelor of Music program, Thomas is continuing his study this year in WAAPA’s new postgraduate program, and will play Judge Danforth in WAAPA’s Australian premier of The Crucible by Robert Ward.
