Victoria Wallace is currently
studying with Maree Ryan for a Diploma of Opera at the Sydney
Conservatorium of Music. Prior to this she studied classical
singing with Ronald Stevens for two years while completing a Diploma
of Creative Arts at The Wesley Institute.
For the following three years she
pursued other interests, but rediscovered her passion for
singing during her experiences on the ABC TV series Operatunity
Oz in which she successfully reached the final twenty out of
two thousand hopefuls. This series gave Victoria the opportunity to
work with such distinguished artists as Yvonne Kenny AM, Richard
Gill OAM, Antoinette Halloran, Elke Neidhardt and Anna Connolly.
Victoria has performed the role
of Lady Sangazure in Gilbert and Sullivan's The Sorcerer
for Rockdale Opera in 2003. She was the contralto soloist in
Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, with the baroque
Ensemble des Emi in
2006.
In 2007 Victoria played the role
of Announcer in Gallantry - a Soap Opera for the Sydney
Conservatorium of Music’s Opera Studio and is performing with the
Opera Australia chorus for Mozart’s The Abduction of Seraglio during the Sydney winter season.
Victoria received this year’s Joan
