Christina Wilson was born in Woomerah, South Australia but brought up
mainly in Canberra.
She
studied at the Canberra School of Music, and while there, entered and
won the Mathy.
Part of
the $20,000 in prizes included studying at Manchester's Royal Northern
College of Music where one of the National Adjudicator for the Mathy
Awards was Joseph Ward, at the time, head of the Vocal Studies
department. She remained there for three years before moving to London
for a further three years - and marrying a fellow Australian.
Christina
has been a soloist in a major production of Handel's Messiah at the
Royal Albert Hall and has played Rosina in The Barber of Seville. her
first professional engagement in Australia was in the 1997 production of
Marriage of Figaro.
