In 1983, Rejieli was told that she had a special gift while auditioning for the conductor of  the Berwick Children's choir, Mrs. Jean Heriot.  

 

Rejieli Shepherd-Paulo was educated at Eumemmerring Secondary College and at St. Margaret's School , Berwick. She studied at the Melba Conservatorium of Music , where she completed her Diploma/Bachelor of Music. She has since commenced studies with Anna Connolly.

 

Rejieli has always enjoyed ensemble singing and was a founding member, for ten years, of the Berwick Children's Choir. In 1994, she accepted the role of Choir Captain. In 1995 , she participated in the International Festival of Music, Florence, Italy , and was Soloist with the BCC when they sang at Il Duomo in Florence, and Durham Cathedral, England.

She gained Distinctions in her Chief Practical Study at the Con, Voice, and has been awarded numerous coveted scholarships, including the Dame Nellie Melba, and Amelia Joscelyne Scholarships.

 

Amongst Rejieli's achievements in recent years, are numerous first places including the City of Sydney Opera Awards, the Austral Salon scholarship, the Australian Youth Aria, Boroondara Vocal Championship and the Vocal Championship of the Warrnambool Eisteddfod. She has twice been a Grand Finalist in the Herald -Sun Aria. Rejieli was also the first runner up in the Opera and Arts award for 2001.

 

Rejieli has sung with the Opera Australia Melbourne Chorus since 1999 and has been accepted by the National Opera Studio, Covent Garden, UK for the 2004/5 academic year.
