Pascall Presence at The Sydney Writer's Festival

Everyone's a Critic: the Geraldine Pascall critics panel

Has arts criticism become lost in the white noise of ‘”arts and entertainment” journalism? Past winners of the Pascall Prize - Gerard Windsor, Alan Saunders, Julie Rigg, Andrew Ford and Bruce Elder argue the importance of critical debate in forwarding cultural and intellectual life at the Sydney Writer’s Festival on Friday 1st June, 1.30-2.30pm at the SDC 4 (Sydney Dance Company at the Wharf). Entry is free.

We will be seeking nominations for the 2007 Pascall Prize shortly. The $15,000 prize is given annually to a critic whose work has contributed significantly to public appreciation, enjoyment and understanding of the area or areas of the arts in which he or she is involved. Critics working in all forms of the arts, including areas such as architecture, food and wine, visual and performing arts and literature are encouraged to enter. Watch this space for all relevant dates!

Meanwhile put the evening of Tuesday 25th September (Sydney) in your diary when the 2007 Pascall 'Critic of the Year' will be announced. More details to follow.
